Ethnology
1. I asked 5 people where they prefer to study and what their study habits. The first one, she likes to study in the Asian lounge. She does not mind studying in the place where it is quiet or people are talking. The second one, she likes to study in the library 5th floor. She studies in the completely silent. The third one, she usually studies in her room or in the Davies Center. She also likes silence. The fourth one, he studies in the study lounge with relaxing music. The last one, she studies in the silent room.
2. Two major differences between Spain’s education system and the UWEC education system are the freedom in the class selection, and also there is a soccer team here.
3. XF means unofficial withdraw. It affects you because it is computed as F.
4. Speak with 2 professors. This part is missing because of still waiting for a professor that one of our group members would like to interview.
5. This sculpture means that people from many places in the world can unite, communicate, and interact with each other. Eau Claire is one of the destinations that connect people.
6. Blugold is the embodiment of a certain spirit. Some people said it was a mythical bird that it was embodiment of school spirit. The mascot that a UWEC student created is not adequate. I think it should not be created too abstract (certain spirit but not specify which kind of spirit). In my opinion, it could be books which embody the diligence and curiosity.
7. In conclusion, from this exercise I can draw that Eau Claire campus culture: people are really friendly. I love people here so much. They like to communicate, speak, and talk with people from other countries. They like to discover different cultures, norms, and traditions. I am an international student and I feel very comfortable living here. To students, the important thing is that they have fun, playing, talking with friends, discovering and learning new things. Also, if they study, they will usually study in the silence. To professors, the important things are that students accomplish homework, as well as improve their social life.
I did not know all members of my group’s blog, so I could not disagree or agree with the responses of someone in my group and consensus on what UWEC culture with them.
